YOU'RE CREATING LIFE
[attr="class","appcon"]Number 1:
Love your characters. Don't just throw them together in ten minutes simply for the sake of making a character. Think about their history and weave it into their personality. Take time to make them someone you'd like or someone you would like to roleplay.[attr="class","appcon"]Number 2:
Think of how they will interact with other characters. Make sure this matches up with their personality and power and doesn't change right after the audition is made. Character development is good, sudden changes in personality are not. Also realize that not every character is a good fighter and will not win every fight. Your character should have some weaknesses, physical or mental. They are never going to win everything.[attr="class","appcon"]Number 3:
Don't get rid of your character just because you're bored of them. Remember that during roleplay your character forms relationships with other characters. If they disappear that leaves the other character in a kind of limbo with their relationships. You may still get rid of characters if they really just don't fit, however if this occurs too often a cap will be placed on the number of characters you can make. (Clearly taking more time on making characters is a good idea)[attr="class","appcon"]Number 4:
Do not make all your characters have a similar appearance or similar features. Make it interesting for yourself. Have both boys and girls. Have characters with different body types, eye color, skin color, and different hair. Having characters that look alike(or act alike) is one of the main reasons that characters become boring. And don't be too concerned with finding a play by. Make your character's appearance first and then find someone that matches that, others can help you as well.[attr="class","appcon"]Number 5:
Think about the power they have very carefully. Explain in detail exactly how the power works. What will it do to other characters? What will it do to your character? Make sure the power is not too overpowered(unless its a teacher in which case it may be more powerful). Think of the pros and cons of the power and make sure to list them in detail. Love your power. Think about it for a good amount of time and fine tune the power before you even audition. [attr="class","appcon"]Number 6:
Roleplay your characters often and well. Make sure that each character is roleplayed the same amount as another and with the same quality. If you have them roleplaying with someone that they don't exactly mesh with, don't give up on the thread. Take a little time, not too much, to think of an appropriate response and keep the roleplay going. The more relationships your character has the better. And they don't necessarily have to be friendly relationships either. Making your characters know each other is fine, but have them branch out so that you have more people to roleplay with.[attr="class","appcon"]Number 7:
In regards to character application. Do not submit an application until it is complete and thorough. Save your draft on a word document on your computer and take your time when fine-tuning everything. If you need to, you can put ((WIP)) in the title to let the admins know it's not finished. But please send a pm to an admin as soon as it's finished. This is your character and when it is submitted it should be a whole person. Not pieces of it. The less comments you have from an admin, the better.
