[PTabbedContent] [PTab=POWER] [attr="class","appcon"]Abilities: Create Night Soil from organic or inorganic matterPhysical and kinetic manipulation of Night Soil [attr="class","appcon"]Explanation of Power: Night Soil is Ainsly's name for the black, sludgy goop over which her abilities give her command. In actuality, it is a combination of black mana and physical matter. It has unpleasant appearance and smell, is non-chemically corrosive, and incompatible to most biological function. Contact with Night Soil has the effect of slightly infusing matter with black mana, so it is self-replicating, to a point. It is however unstable, and relatively quickly turns into ashes as the black mana holding the particles together dissipates into the surroundings. The length of time it takes to decay depends on the amount of mana invested, but is no longer than a day.The time it takes to create Night Soil from matter depends on the hardness and magical durability of an object. Once she has created a quantity of it, she can shape and move it as if she were telekinetic, but only with respect to Night Soil, and furthermore, the act of shaping it accelerates the degradation of the material. A curious property of the material is that it refuses to be made orderly, so sheer surfaces and tight corners soon bubble and slump into strange shapes and unsightly angles. Her own body has a significant, but not limitless resistance to the effects of Night Soil, and a smaller one to the effects of raw black mana. Other mana types affect her normally. Despite the deteriorating conditions of the world, she does still take pride in her personal appearance and tries to keep at least her teeth white and her hair groomed. With the nature of her Gift these goals are difficult to achieve, but she does use a significant portion of her resources to keep up her look. She finds the time to dye her hair every few months. Before the sundering of the Realms, she was constantly attired in the latest fashion. Now, she has fully taken to a more apocalyptic chic, incorporating leather and utility into her fashion, some of which is actually functional. So far she has not suffered any scars to her body permanently, nor any wounds or physical ailments. Her proportions are average for a woman of her size, and her ears have been pierced only once in each lobe. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=PERSONALITY] [attr="class","appcon"]Likes: Creatures, fashion and beauty, singing, especially pop music, partying, materialism [attr="class","appcon"]Dislikes: gross stuff, orders, people who are too smart, moderation, boys [attr="class","appcon"]General Personality: Ainsly was raised in the lap of luxury before the fall, and surprisingly took well to the collapse of society. Underneath the layers of materialism and brattishness, Ainsly is a deeply determined woman, although she might not know exactly what she wants, or what is best for her at any given time. She tries to keep to her morals, but, as imperfect people do, often shunts them to the side when confronted with something she wants or fears. To those ends, she can sometimes be quite devious. While her knowledges are lacking, having studied business in school, her social skills are developed being both an aspiring businesswoman and rising debutant. In the wake of the sundering, she traveled across the country from her shattered hometown to New York in order to find her place in the world. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=HISTORY] [attr="class","appcon"]Family: Leon and Deborah Renais[attr="class","appcon"]History: Ainsly was adopted by Leon and Deborah Renais as an infant, and took their name for the first 18 years of her life. As they were successful and had mostly adopted her out of need for someone to dote on, she was spoiled heavily. Despite mediocre grades and below average athletic ability, she charmed classmates and teachers alike with her congenial nature (and perhaps the wealth of her parents). She discovered her Gift late as a teenager and attended briefly a Gifted Academy on the West Coast, graduating, and attending a prestigious business school, where she performed averagely, but still seemed to do better. She had few issues with her Gift, as it wasn't very strong. On her 18th birthday, her parents revealed to her the circumstances of her birth, and her true last name, which after a few days decision, she decided to keep. Once civilization collapsed, however, both her comfortable lifestyle, her easy control over her abilities, and her parents were taken from her, and most of their possessions were beyond her reach, being stored in digital form. Still, she had a significant amount of resources at her disposal as she decided to leave the West Coast and make her way eastward, between the car and the few secret caches of cash her parents kept in the house and revealed to her. More dangerously, the increased mana in the world also strengthened her abilities, and also made them more difficult to control. On the trip over to the East coast, she managed to train a little, but as training runs contrary to her nature, her progress was limited to getting to the point of not destroying her possessions. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}] [PTab=ROLEPLAY] 'Uh, this is, like, great.' As Ainsly arrived in the grand city at last, she was more than a little disappointed at the remains of one of the last human friendly zones on the planet, or so the rumors said. It did look a lot better than what had happened to her own home, where the Red Realm had impinged on the Earth, but really, it showed how each and every form of mana could be destructive. Not that she needed any reminding of that. Every moment was a bit of a struggle to not turn her clothes into dark goop, but that was something she had come to terms with a while ago. Back, like, in her high school days. She had more than a few traveling companions on her long journey over the country, but she had arrived alone, the last one hundred miles having been entirely in her own company. At least she had plenty of time to consider everything she would need to do. She had even made a list, tucked away somewhere. It was a remnant of her business schooling, where they had to make lists and crap for like, literally, everything. Still, she couldn't help but smiling, one corner of her mouth pulling back a little ahead of the other.
