[PTabbedContent] [PTab=POWER] [attr="class","appcon"]Abilities: Shapeshifter [attr="class","appcon"]Explanation of Power: Valerius' has the power to shift between his human form, and that of a deadly snake. The naja melanoleuca- or forest cobra- is a black and white-lipped species native to Africa, and this is his natural form. Valerius can easily switch from his serpentine form into a human being, and he has the ability to remain this way for a few days at a time without feeling the need to return to his more comfortable snake body. Stretching out to be fourteen feet long, Valerius is longer than any known forest cobra. His is fast, strong, and dangerous, and is very comfortable climbing trees and swimming. In this form, his venom is powerful enough to kill within fifteen minutes. This postsynaptic neurotoxin will quickly shut down the central nervous system. Bites can cause symptoms such as drowsiness, paralysis of some limbs, hearing loss, the inability to speak, dizziness, shock, stomach pain, fever, and other neurological and repertory symptoms. Death can occur rapidly upon envenomation in severe cases. Even in his human form, Valerius can kill, which is unusual for his species. Valerius Blackwell's success is not only owed to his wealth and last name, but to the sheer amount of power he possesses. His ubiety is exceptionally powerful and horrific. Upon the collapse of the realms, the man's force increased, and he unlocked a new ability: he began learning how to grow more than one head in his serpentine form. So far, he has learned to grow two additional heads. He still sees through his one set of eyes, and is not in full control of the other heads. However, Valerius can will them into biting someone, if the situation is of high energy. In his human form, he still maintains some of his animal's speed, agility, strength, and deadliness. In addition to his gift, there is one more thing worth mentioning about Mr. Blackwell. In an attempt to protect himself, he sold a portion of his soul (in addition to a large chuck of change) to the devil- a black ribboned witch- in order to have a protective spell cast over him. This means that powers used against him are less effective. This doesn't mean that they won't work, just that they won't work as well. With long eyelashes that outline his hard, serpentine eyes, and full, shapely lips, the man's face is a work of art in itself. But despite his feminine features, Valerius' sharp facial lines and sunken bones give him a dark, hair-raising appearance. Valerius is six foot tall and rather average in weight, but it is the way he carries himself that strikes fear and intimidation in those who approach him. Underneath the lavish, elegant clothes that he adorns himself in at times, is a hard, toned exterior. Though he isn't buff at all, where there would be fat on his body, is instead firm and tough muscle. In the past, his brown hair was long and relatively straight. Valerius kept it tidy and perfect, and it reached his lower back. Often, jewelry and silver crowns would sit upon his head. However, in these times of greater stress, he found himself needing to be more physically active, and found it more practical to be without it. When in settings where he is around his family and other shifters, Valerius will dress extravagantly, in long robes and capes, like one might in an elven land. However, this look quickly changes to flashy suit and ties when around businessmen who aren't familiar with his family's way of life. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=PERSONALITY] [attr="class","appcon"]Likes: Money, power, glory, cigars, wine, traveling, women, tradition [attr="class","appcon"]Dislikes: Drug use, traitors, weak-willed men, cold weather, being undermined[attr="class","appcon"]General Personality: Authoritative, dominant, and influential, Valerius is the supreme, sovereign leader of not only his extensive family, but of the United States drug scene, and cobra species around the world. With such overflowing power comes great responsibility that Mr. Blackwell handles with extreme precision and force. He is a tremendous leader and businessman, governing with a strong hand that comes down with cruelty on those who cross him. He is poised and deliberate, and doesn't speak often at all, in order to keep from revealing more than necessary. When he does speak however, it usually quite elegant, and interesting to listen to. His voice is low, with an emphasis on his 's's that one might expect from a cobra, and often strikes fear into the hearts of those near him. Valerius' general presence is enough to put one on edge, and most avoid eye contact without really knowing why. He is humorless and serious, and rarely expresses emotion other than calm, anger, or one of deep thinking. Often, Valerius can be viewed as an evil man, as it is part of the reason why he is so feared. Cruel to his wife and children, Mr. Blackwell has high expectations for his family, as well as those he chooses to work with. He shows no caring or love to anyone, especially his immediate family. In his eyes, giving them a home, money and raising his sons to be powerful was kindness enough. Lacking warmth of any kind, he possesses no feelings for other beings- he is far more animal than human in that sense, though he has extremely good control over his urges. A man of great discipline, he doesn't partake in drugs- for he thinks they are for the weak- other than alcohol and the occasional cigar. As far as sex goes, while he enjoys displaying his dominance over woman, he does not have a strong need for the act, and is always in control of the situation. A force to be reckoned with, Valerius Blackwell will go to great lengths to get the things he desires- though most don't dare to stand in his way. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=HISTORY] [attr="class","appcon"]Family: Vincent Blackwell (father - deceased), Beatrice Blackwell (mother - deceased), Adam Blackwell (brother), James Blackwell (brother - deceased), Isabel Blackwell (sister), Catherine Blackwell (wife), Sebastian Blackwell (son), Gavin Blackwell (son)[attr="class","appcon"]History: The firstborn son of Vincent and Beatrice, Valerius was born with a target on his back. At that point in time, there were many members of the Blackwell family looking to come to power, willing to achieve it in any way possible. There was this uncle and that cousin, etcetera etcetera who wanted to have ownership of the empire when Vincent died. These family members crossed their fingers, in hopes that Beatrice would produce no sons. But as if to spite them, she had three sons. In his infancy, Valerius had two attempts on his life. But his mother was smart, intuitive, and fierce, and protected her sons with intensity. As a toddler, Valerius was a serious child, and easy to care for. He had two brothers- Adam and James- twins that were a year younger than him, and a sister named Isabel that was two years younger. Where the boys developed nicely, quickly mastering the shapeshifting process, Isabel was slow, and disabled. And though Valerius to this day doesn't know the details of the matter, his father had her killed quickly and quietly, claiming she came down with a sickness of sorts. His mother was devastated, but there was nothing she could do. It wasn't until Valerius came to be about seven that he became aware of the going ons within his family. He often found that his father was drunk, or coked up in some manner, and constantly was discovering bruises on his mother. At this point ins his life, Valerius and his mother were very close, the bond between the two incredibly strong. Though Beatrice was a strong woman, there was no point in standing up to her husband, who was a ruthless, thoughtless, and impulsive creature. From that age, a deep resentment began to grow for his father. And at the age of twelve, after walking in on a particularly brutal altercation between his mother and drunk father, Valerius killed him by breaking a glass bottle over his head. And just like that, Valerius was king, at the ripe, young age of twelve. Of course, he had many advisors, and his mother to help him in the beginning. But he was already quite competent at that point. The resounding hatred that Valerius had for his father lit his fire, and drove him to be the most powerful, successful, respected, and feared empire ever seen. There were many kinks along the way, especially in his young years as ruler. Betrayal was left and right, and the only person Valerius found he could truly trust was his mother. She protected him, watched out for him, and kept him safe as long as she could. But soon, his enemies caught on. And at the age of sixteen, Beatrice Blackwell was poisoned. To this day, Valerius doesn't know the culprit. It was at that point that he began making connections worldwide, in the gifted world, and in the nongifted world. The more powerful people on his side, the more his family feared him. At the age of seventeen he expanded his drug trade tenfold, increasing his wealth and reputation. It was then that Valerius met Catherine, a woman who was unsurprisingly much like his deceased mother. It took less than a year for the two to be married, their connection strong, despite his cold disposition. At the age of eighteen, Valerius was already a man, and soon became a father. Soon after the birth of Sebastian, Valerius head word that his brother James and Adam were plotting to kill him, as they were hungry for power of their own, and didn't fear him as much as they should have. Immediately, Mr. Blackwell executed James (the eldest twin) in front of a rather large gathering, to make an example. He kept Adam alive, as a slave of sorts. The man quickly turned to drugs, and has lived in his eldest brother's shadow ever since. The next decade held much success for Valerius Blackwell, though it was a time of change, as he cleared out his team of advisors and made way for help that he could truly trust. He trained his sons, raising them harshly, determined to make them strong enough to carry on the family's name with honor. It quickly became apparent to him that his younger son, Gavin was fit be apart of his legacy, and he exiled him in a way. It was arguments over the youngest son that put a large wedge in between Valerius and his dearest wife, who was quite attached to the boy. So he gave his attention to Sebastian, teaching him to be powerful and smart like himself. The collapse of the realms was a trying time for Mr. Blackwell, as it changed everything that he had ever known. The family relocated from Florida to New York, and they adapted to the new life. Now working for Bolas, tensions were higher than ever, and Valerius saw it fit to do away with Gavin, as it was desperately important that he be surrounded by people he could trust. The drug trade remained, though his focus was elsewhere. It was his job to keep an eye on things in New York City, and alert Bolas of any rebel groups forming. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}] [PTab=ROLEPLAY]Dark, serpentine eyes looked intently into a crackling fire that warmed Valerius' study. Sat upon a large, velvet green armchair with a cigar in one hand and a glass of scotch in the other, an animal disguised as a human considered the state of his empire. The Blackwells' life in Florida had been uprooted upon the collapse of the realms, and they had speedily made the move to Manhattan. Though it was no manor, their penthouse located in the upper east side was lavish and elegant. Most of the family that had survived the takeover made the journey with them, though they lived in lower levels of the building. Valerius was working for Bolas, receiving perks left and right for siding with the most powerful man in the world. But Mr. Blackwell couldn't help but think that his downfall would come sooner than later, and he wanted to be prepared to come out on top. The entire nature of their world had changed, and Valerius was adapting quickly. Though seventy percent of the earth's population had been destroyed, there was still quite the demand for drugs. The pure and utter depression that was Bolas' massacre caused more people to turn to narcotics, and made those that were already using increase their dosages. But the drug trade was no longer Valerius' number one priority. Now he was working under someone, keeping a watchful eye on the city, sniffing out any and all signs of rebel activity. Valerius' thought process was interrupted by the sound of a knock, and then the quiet creak of the door opening. He didn't need to turn his head away from the fireplace to know that it was his firstborn son joining him. "Father," he heard the greeting, and took a moment or two before turning his head to face Sebastian. "Yes, Sebastian, sit." As per usual, he did as he was told, "I have a task for you."
