[PTabbedContent] [PTab=POWER] [attr="class","appcon"]Abilities: Dragon natural abilities [attr="class","appcon"]Explanation of Power: Like most of his kind, Rex is naturally capable of exhaling fire through his mouth and nose. He can generate it in the form of a stream or flamethrower or as more of a fireball. Breathing fire requires him to exhale and so obviously it's usually reserved for short bursts of no more than 10 to 20 seconds. He is also capable of flight but usually requires either a running start or to be able to throw himself off of something high in order to take to the sky. He his also too heavy to be able to easily hover. For essentially a giant reptile, Rex's body is surprisingly warm. His thick scales provide him with a fair amount of protection although he has discovered that modern weapons such as bullets are able to pierce them. Also, his hide underneath is something of a weak spot. He is also notoriously vulnerable to fire and anything else which might sometimes be called "magic" I.E gifted abilities. Although perhaps not in itself a power, he has an extended lifespan. He has never known a dragon to die of old age and doesn't know if they're capable of it. He's big, strong and powerful. His brown scales are fairly rough to the touch, rather like the bark of a tree. His wings are almost batlike and allow him to fly though the skies with relative ease, even if his large body can make him rather unmanoeuvrable, something akin to a flying truck. He can be fearsome in combat, with the ability to breathe fire and his fallback weapons a set of teeth and claws which would make a grizzly run to the hills. His tail is also capable of packing quite the wallop and you most definitely wouldn't want to be on wrong side of it. Through time spent around and studying humans, Rex thinks he'd picked up some of their body language and mannerisms. Thinks being the most important word there. His smiles and laughs often come across, well... A little, toothy. He tries though and his English is coming along rather well, it no longer sounds like he's choking, only that he has a frog in his throat. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=PERSONALITY] [attr="class","appcon"]Likes: Meat, poetry, music, flying, sunbathing [attr="class","appcon"]Dislikes: Loud noises, being woken up, the rain (and other bad weather as a general), people calling him a 'dinosaur', violence[attr="class","appcon"]General Personality: Rex might not be what most people think about when they think dragon. He's actually pretty young at heart and has quite the sense of humor. He has a taste for the finer things in life and could quite happily spend an entire day basking in the sun, in that respect he's rather lazy. A gentle soul, he only kills for food and will reply upon people's preconceptions about dragons to scare them rather than having to confront them directly. After all, he's learnt that they can hurt him. He has a strong dislike for anything and anyone who takes particular pleasure in killing or death, especially those who earn their living from it. He has a very strong sense of dragon pride and a certain natural tendency to assume himself and his kind superior to all those around him. He doesn't like to be proven wrong and will usually get a little stroppy if he is especially if it's by a human. It's nothing personal, it's just the usual age gap between him and the small two legged things causes him to view them as children more than anything else. This leads him to have a condescending approach when dealing with humanity, somewhat reminiscent of an adult talking to a misbehaving child. He does respect the humans for their artistic abilities and will never cease to be impressed by their ability to make beautiful things. He'll admit that humanity has a lot of potential, just a shame they spend so much time trying to blow themselves up... So long ago in fact that he remembers when Romans ruled Europe. He was born to a clutch of nine other young dragon hatchlings somewhere in ancient Egypt, at the time fairly recently conquered by the Romans. As such, his native tongue is in fact Latin. His name Rex, was given to him by some of the locals and means "King" as he was the largest of his clutch. At the time and right up until the medieval ages, people didn't seem to mind dragons that much. Then, knights changed that and decided that dragons made good trophies. Preferring to avoid getting slain by a human on a horse with a large pointy stick. Rex, his family and many other dragons fled to the red realm. There he stayed until the cataclysm where he found himself being flung back into a world which he believed he had left behind. This time however, earth had changed beyond his recognition. Although some of the great buildings of the Romans and Egyptians still stood, he found himself faced with a world of steel, concrete and electricity. A world which now seemed to have collided with the other realms. Confused, alone and a little scared, the dragon eventually found himself wondering over to the American continent. Learning English proved a difficult task for Rex, even if he could recognize some of the basics of Latin within it. He doesn't really know what to do with himself, he's got half a mind to help the humans currently struggling against Bolas. Maybe then, things might go back to normal and he might not feel so alone. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}] [PTab=ROLEPLAY] The warmth from the sun shown down on the top of the high buildings of the city of Tokyo. He recalled tails of the dragons that had made their home in this ancient land. Strange beasts, with the body of a serpent, no wings but still capable of flight. They were among the oldest dragons said to exist, at least that's what his mother had always told him. He wondered if some still lingered somewhere out there. Some said they preferred water, in which case the red realm which now enveloped the islands would probably be ill-suited for their tastes. Maybe they had moved on to the blue realm some place. In any case, the dragon thought to himself, they're not here now... He lay down against the top of the building fully taking advantage of it's reflective surface in order to bask. What strange creatures these humans were, making towers which almost touched the clouds, like ant hills. That's what they were, ants, scurrying around down there about their business... Although, from what little he had seen of them, they didn't seem to like being referred to as such. So much had changed. This world was not as he had known it. He wished that he could have seen this city and the others like it before the destruction had come, he would have liked to have seen humanity and what it had become. Maybe he would have been disappointed, he couldn't say... Ifs and maybes, there were many of them but they didn't count for that much. The dragon raised his head to look at the red sky, some birds passed overhead. At least they were still there. With a groan, he straightened himself. A primal rumbling in his stomach informed him that he needed food. There would be something out there for him to eat... Stretching his wings, he allowed himself to slip off of the side of his buildings. The wind underneath him, allowed him to take to the sky. As some onlooking humans starred with eyes wide with wonder. "Oh yes..." He laughed to himself. "Dragons are back and we've been a long time coming."
