Today was going to be a good day. Eir could feel it and she had an excellent nose for these sorts of things. Every light was green from here to the eleventh dimension! Now all Eir needed was to find a few people to drag along for the ride. After all you couldn't have an exciting journey without a properly diversified portfolio of adventurers. That was one of the first rules of adventuring - pretty much everyone knew it!
There were a few familiar faces in New York City she could tap on the shoulder, but if they weren't ready then she'd have to find alternatives. You couldn't drag someone on an adventure if they weren't up to snuff. That was another of those important rules... Eir would probably have to explain a few of those later on for the group. The lesser-known ones, of course. But that was counting her chickens before they'd hatched.
Eir came zipping into town and appeared at a four-way stop in upper-Brooklyn, holding a map stretched out in front of her face. She scowled and crudely rolled it back up while making a mental note that it'd probably be a good idea to start asking people where they lived... Well, everything had said that today was going to be a lucky day. So perhaps she'd just find the right people as she went.

Hello. Hope you don't mind this late reply...
///////
Casey dragged his feet slightly as he walked down the upper Brooklyn street. As it so happened, he was slightly at a loss with what to do with himself today. He didn't particularity feel like hanging around his house aimlessly. Sure, he could have read a book or something but as the hours had ticked by since his waking up, he had found himself growing bored. Hanging around the same old four walls, with nobody else to keep him company other than his pet cat was a good way to become stir crazy. So, he had decided to stretch his legs, which had lead to him wondering the streets a little aimlessly.
It still felt strange to him to see the streets in such a state, overrun by vegetation and so very quiet. Sure, it wasn't the same everywhere and he was rather glad that New York and the surrounding area was now a part of the green realm rather than say the black one but he would still overall have preferred that it remained in it's original state.
He was about to call it a day and turn around to head back home, as he found himself straying into territory which he knew a little less when he spotted a girl. He said girl, she couldn't have been that much younger than he was. Judging by the map, she was either looking for something or someone or didn't know the area. Possibly both. If that was the case, he wished her luck, he wouldn't like to get lost in the city nowadays. She didn't appear to be that worried though, maybe she did know what she was doing and where she was...
Generally, Casey avoided strangers. In particular, when he was on his own. Still, a mixture of curiosity and even a little bit of genuine concern prevented him from making a discrete getaway. Instead, he stepped forwards into full view. "Hi there!" He called out, keeping a safe distance none-the-less. You could never be too cautious, hence the pistol he was carrying in a holster behind him.

((sorry i haven't really been like at all thbinking about RP stuff and also it looks like ain't gonna be a group or nothin'. but let's wing it, i guess!))
"Ah!" Eir jumped slightly as the voice of some unseen gentleman touched her ears. So there were people around these parts! It wasn't that rare to find the odd squatter in the less habitable areas of New York City but this guy didn't really look to much like one of them at a glance. He was short on the beard and coming up broke in the unshowered department. "Afternoons and salutations!" Eir replied back with an energetic wave while scrunching her map into one hand.
In a blink the distance between the two of them was cut in half and Eir hadn't even taken a step. "My name is Eir Hrafnsdottir and I am bepleasured to meet you." she said with a big smile. "What brings you to this town part?" she asked.

O.O.C : No problems!
////
He had startled the woman, not his intention but it couldn't be helped. He just hoped that she didn't freak out and attack him. He didn't care too much if she ran, in fact, he half expected her to do so. So it was fair to say that he found himself rather surprised when she waved back at him and gave him a decidedly odd greeting.
A small smile crept onto his face : afternoons and salutations? Who spoke like that nowadays, he might have expected it from a 19th century novel character but never before had he heard someone seriously use such words to say hello. Still, it was better than a bullet he guessed. His hand relaxed somewhat and drifted away from his hidden weapon. He didn't think that she posed much of a threat. Then, she disappeared.
It was only for a split second and then, she was in front of him. Casey, instinctively, although perhaps not very gracefully leaped backwards. "Jesus Christ!" He shouted out startled. It took all of his self control to not reach for his gun. It was probably a good thing that she spoke in such a cheerful tone with such a large smile. He let out a sigh, calming himself slightly. Bepleasured... He wondered if that word was even still in the dictionary anymore. Still a little shaken, he managed a smile. "Casey..." He replied, offering her his hand despite his voice shaking slightly.
"I was just out here for a walk." He informed her; deciding that the truth would be best. "Just to stretch my legs, ya know?". He contemplated the strange woman for a few minutes, all in all, she seemed to be rather harmless. Gifted certainly but judging by her bubbly attitude, she didn't look like she was going to cause any trouble. "What about you? What are you doing out here? Going on a hike?"

"Eheheh." Eir clapped her hands and giggled at Casey's reaction to her advance. Something about it struck her as mildly amusing, there was obviously no helping human instinct but she'd traveled at least thrice the distance his little hopskip backwards had gained him not only a split moment before. It really unpinned how poorly the human mind was wired to handle a world like this one had become. But that was a bit too much waxing philosophical too much for a Thursday afternoon. Today was about single-minded, adventuring shenanigans!
"Já, já. Something like the hiking." she said nodding energetically, "I was looking for companerionery.... Er... Company?" she corrected sounding quite unsure as she scratched at the side of her head for a second. "Um. What I mean to say..." Eir grumbled and furrowed her brow in thought before kicking herself up an inch from the ground and teleporting directly in front of Casey this time and reaching out to grab at one of his hands. "Will you come hike with me?" she asked almost pleadingly. Assembling your adventure started with one person! And this could just be that person!

Cheerful or insane? Casey was having a hard time deciding. He was usually a pretty level-headed kind of guy. That wasn't to say that he didn't like messing around every now and then; he liked having some fun as much as the next guy whether he would extend that to larking around to this extent with a complete stranger in the street. So he was a little confused when it came to this girl and her decidedly bubbly attitude. Unsure how to react, he chuckled slightly in response to her laughter.
He listened to her speak. Jà. Jà... So she was foreign. He wondered why he hadn't picked up on it earlier. He tried to guess what country she could have. A Germanic one perhaps? The Germans definitely said "ja" instead of "yes". In the end, he decided that it would be simpler and perhaps more polite. "What a charming accent. I take it that you're not from around here?".
She teleported again, fortunately, he wasn't quite so surprised this time although still had to work to avoid instinctively flinching away. His eyes widened slightly with surprise as she grabbed for one of his hands. It wasn't that he disliked contact with people, in fact, he found that he had been missing it somewhat since coming here but he still found people suddenly latching onto him to be somewhat unusual. She wanted him to come with her for a hike. Somehow, he doubted that it would be so simple and there was a large part of him which said that this was only going to land him in trouble... Then again, he was rather bored at the moment and if this Eir could teleport then hopefully she'd just be able to warp them out of any dangerous situations.
"Well..." He allowed his voice to hang in the air for a few moments, a trick which used to drive his little brother up the wall. "I don't see why not. So long as we're home for dinner."
