[PTabbedContent] [PTab=POWER] [attr="class","appcon"]Abilities: Mental fortitude, Ability to make people hear/ see/ feel/ taste/ smell things that aren't there. [attr="class","appcon"]Explanation of Power: Making people see things that aren't there; an illusionist. It requires a great deal of attention to detail; one wrong color and it's done, people know it's an illusion. Don't concentrate on it hard enough? It'll look 2D and fake. A lot goes into making the illusions seem real, but with years of practice it's almost second nature to him. He's just begun to make them tangible, although it takes a lot of effort and focus. His illusions have gotten much more real and believable, as has his mental power in general. He is aware if someone tries to read his mind. He is constantly covering up his real thoughts with false starts and dead ends and useless information. Someone would have to really dig to sift through everything in his mind. The reason why he knows to do this around mind readers is because he can also get into someone's mid. Through physical contact ((often just his hand to your forehead)) he can tap into your mind's energy and make illusions brilliantly real; but just for you. He sends you pictures, images, feelings and controls time for you. When this happens, no matter how unbelievable or how you try to rationalize it, it's real for you and you alone. Doing this type of thing leaves Jace vulnerable too. He has to stand still and not lose contact with the person he's warping reality for. He also feels all of the things the person does because they're connected in a way. But the plus side is that he controls it, so he knows it's fake. All you can do is believe him. [attr="class","appcon"]Ubeity: [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=APPEARANCE] [attr="class","appcon"]Height: 5'9" [attr="class","appcon"]Hair Color: Brown [attr="class","appcon"]Eye color: Blue [attr="class","appcon"]Play By: Kellin Quinn [attr="class","appcon"]General Appearance: Jace isn't an intimidating looking person. He's on the skinny, pale side. He usually wears dark colors and blues. His right arm is completely covered in tattoos as well as parts of his chest. But he has stopped focusing on tattoos ever since he'd started learning higher schools of magic. His physicality isn't anything special, his mind is the more intriguing part of him. What people tend to notice are his blue eyes and the scars that line his face. Two start near his eye and follow all the way down to his chin. The other two are short just on his jaw. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=PERSONALITY] [attr="class","appcon"]Likes: Meditation, Calmness, Tattoos, Learning new things, reading, laughter [attr="class","appcon"]Dislikes: Stubbornness, Ignorance, Pettiness, the color orange, [attr="class","appcon"]General Personality: Younger Jace was reckless and cocky. A prankster. He had a thirst for knowledge that the Phoenix Academy couldn't satisfy. During the Bolas event, he had been on a trip to the blue realm and ended up far away from the east coast of the United States. When the realms broke apart, they dumped their contents wherever they could find space on earth. Jace joined up with the voidmages, trying to find a way home. He stayed for a while, finding that their knowledge of blue magic was deep and he wanted to learn everything. He got involved in their philosophies and started to want a higher understanding of the world. He learned many things, they disciplined the petty trickiness out of him and made him into a peace-loving monk of sorts. Even with all the knowledge he acquired, it still wasn't enough. He couldn't accept their philosophy in its entirety. There was still something on Earth that he wanted. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=HISTORY] [attr="class","appcon"]Family: All deceased [attr="class","appcon"]History: Born and raised in Jersey City, he didn't have a pampered childhood. He had an older sister, a mom who stayed home all day and did nothing and a father who brought home the bread. Everything was pretty normal until he turned twelve. He started seeing things, scary things. Convinced they were hallucinations, the doctor put him on medicines that did nothing. He'd wake up screaming from nightmares, sometimes interrupt class. When he was bullied for being the weird kid, what was he to do but defend himself. He got so tired of fighting, he grabbed the other boy's face, and accidentally got into his mind. Jace watched as his illusion drowned the boy. He didn't know how to stop it at the time, and it lasted quite a while. It only went on for a second in real time, but when they finally broke apart, the other boy was choking and gagging. No one knew what Jace had done. He was taken out of school shortly after that, and confined to one room in the house. Jace was the problem child that no one talked about. His parents were ashamed, so they hid him from the world so no one would see their failure. For a while, Jace was scared out of his mind. He was alone. And there were monsters all around that looked very real to him. But he realized, eventually that they did what he wanted them to do. He could change them, and soon they disappeared. Images only came to him when he wanted it. And he practiced. A lot. That's the only entertainment he had. And when he started hearing horrified screams from downstairs, he knew it was working. And after that, his parents thought he was possessed. What better way to get rid of a child than to leave him with his grandmother. He stayed with her until he was accepted to the Phoenix Academy where they didn't think he was crazy. Near the beginning of his senior year, his grandmother died. His father tried to keep it quiet, but a medium told him that she was trying to contact him. He was devastated, but even more angry at his family. When he turned 18, he fought for the inheritance she left him: everything. All his father got was a bit of money. As for his love life, he's had three serious girlfriends. The first two didn't last long, and one of those relationships included cheating on her part. He had one little fling with another blue ribbon boy before he moved away and never came back. But perhaps all he discovered from that was that he liked girls better. Then came Nallie. His history with her is very rocky, from doing everything in his power to convince her to be with him, to cheating again, to him forgetting about her for a while (brought on by a certain freshman). Their history is still in the making. When the Bolas event happened, all of his living relatives died. He was displaced from his home and started to learn the voidmage way of the world. They are a group of beings completely unconcerned with the fate of the world. More concerned with something they call 'the void' and they strive for knowledge above all else. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}] [PTab=ROLEPLAY] She wore a white dress. Dresses were the closest thing she could get to being comfortable. It didn't stick to her, but she distinctly felt the fabric on her back. She sat back and ignored the stares that people were giving her. Did she really have to go through with this? Couldn't they just tell from looking at her that she was a freak? Finally her name was called and she walked up on stage. She glared at the students below, almost daring someone to laugh at her. Go on, I'll gladly demonstrate my power on whoever cracks a smile first. There. And in the front row no less. She set her jaw and made a motion with her hand. There was a rumble in the floor and a root from a tree outside cracked the tile, shooting up to encircle her no longer smiling victim. Not so funny now, is it? There was a protest from the teachers. "Put the boy down. Now." Blythe acknowledged them and dropped him. He crashed into the chairs below while the root slithered back into the ground. Blythe blew him a kiss. He'd do well to remember her. She twirled around and sauntered off the stage, leaving the gaping hole in the floor where it was. That was annoying. They gave her a green ribbon. Gee, you think? Lovely, it matches my skin. She accepted it with little resistance and moved on. She was in. Was that any surprise?
