[PTabbedContent] [PTab=POWER] [attr="class","appcon"]Abilities: Can manipulate/distort sound to be a completely different sound or mute the original sound completely. Can also amplify his own voice and noises, and can mute sound with sonic waves.[attr="class","appcon"]Explanation of Power: Drake's power with sound is quiet varied, but the specialization come from sounds themselves. Drake can hear any and all sounds from a fixed proximity of 50 yards from his current location. 50 yards is with using the least amount of mana, but the power can be extended to over 100 yards by using a good chunk of Mana. Most of the sounds that Drake can manipulate have to be something that he generates, but it it not limited to the people within his proximity. For example, Drake could be clapping his hands. The noise that comes from the clap can then be manipulated into something louder and more frightening. However, the sounds have to be similar; otherwise, Drake will have to use a larger pool of Mana to manipulate the sound correctly. So, he could change his clapping sound into something that was a loud BOOM, like an explosion, or a clapping sound, like a thunder clap. Drake also has the ability to amplify his own to over 120 decibels, at which noise-induced hearing loss can occur. But he can also mute his own noises and sounds using sonic waves from his distortion technique. By using the same sound waves, he can mute a person's noise from others completely without ever being heard. As one of the smaller perks he picked up from his ability, if he focuses, he can hear a person's heartbeat. Drake can also imitate another person by distortion of if voice into another's, but he has to hear the voice at least once for him to be able to copy it. Obviously, his dreads are one of the more prominent features he has. Drake has had dreadlocks all his life, but he keeps up on them. He rarely lets them grow past his shoulders. If he does, it's probably because he had a bad week. He's usually on-top of his appearance, but when he's in a bad mood, he tends to slack off. He wears dark sunglasses, even if the sun is out. One of the reasons is because he prefers hearing people rather than seeing them. It's rare that anyone would get a chance to see the dark eyes that lie underneath the tinted shades. Since most of his work in the past and present involving being a DJ or Music Maker, he dresses in clothes that allow his arms to move freely, going for long-sleeved sweaters and jeans to be casual. He refused to wear gold chains on a regular basis. When he's not DJing, he's working out, keeping his body and mind fit. He has a good set of muscles, and is not one to be messed with. He stands taller than most, trying to intimidate those that attempt to come near him. [attr="class","appcon"]Dislikes: Chatting, Pointless Banter, Not getting paid, Not being able to listen to music, Pies [attr="class","appcon"]General Personality: Drake's not really a patient man. He prefers people who are frank and to the point, as he feels that his time is precious and can't be wasted. It's not really good to make him angry, since he could give someone hearing loss if he desired. But it takes a lot for him to be the angry at someone. To those he cares about, he can be overly protective. He is extremely protective over family, and it likely to blow his cork when family is talked about or even mentioned to him. But otherwise, he stay aloof from most people and leave them to their own business. As long as there's pay involved, he would be willing to take on any job. He prefers getting paid for his information, rather than taking sides in any alliances. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=HISTORY] [attr="class","appcon"]Family: Blood Mother: Alive, Whereabouts Unknown. Blood Father: Alive, Whereabouts Unknown. Adoptive Mother: MIA. [attr="class","appcon"]History: Drake was one of the few gifted kids who wasn't adopted into a gifted family. Drake's mother and father were both gifted, but neither of them wanted a child. They were married to different people, bearing a child out of their combined misery. As a result, Drake was put into the system and put into foster care. Her true parents never went looking for them, and he has never met either of them. He's only heard rumors about then, but decided long ago that they weren't worth looking for. He was adopted into the company of Gwendolyn Duivel, a frequent traveler who mastered in linguistics. She was strict and harsh, having Drake travel with her as she continued her research of other languages. The most they ever stayed in one place was for two years, and that was in Italy. Drake's gift was activated from the moment he was born, though he didn't quite know it yet. As he got younger, he discovered he had an affinity for languages, being able to use his hearing to distinguish different sounds and words from languages. Ms. Duivel thought of her son as a prodigy, home-schooling him and seeing his like and appreciation for languages. In fact, Drake was better than his mother, even though she studied languages for her lifetime. When Drake turned 10, he thought that he was beginning to hear voices and he couldn't sleep. His power had become stronger, to the point that he started to hear people from cities away. This is when Drake and his mother were in Germany, teaching German business students the importance of English in literature and language. Drake couldn't silence the voices, and tried to calm himself by running to the bathroom. He tried to scream and vent out his frustration, but he ended up cracking mirrors and shattering all the lights in the bathroom. The students that were in the bathroom were terrified and suffered from noise-induced hearing loss for months.Drake finally confessed to his mother that he had been hearing things that no one should, so Ms. Duivel did the thing she thought was best. Ms. Duivel enrolled Drake into a "Gifted" program, where he could be with other gifted students. Despite her dismay, the teachers recommended that until Drake had his power under control, he should stay at the Gifted Academy. Drake had always been moving, always traveling. Having to stay in one place was one of the hardest things for him to adjust to. But regardless of his studies, he still found sanctuary in the music room. His foster mother wrote to him every week, with an additional phone call to calm the boy. Drake missed being with his mother, and when Drake asked her to visit, she did so. As a response to the great love and attention, Drake found himself to think of Ms. Duivel as his real mom, and come to be protective over her. After 8 long years of being at school, Drake left the school and began traveling once again. He attended multiple universities in many different countries, ultimately graduating with a Major in Languages and a minor in business. After he graduated, him and his mother decided to spend a week in Italy to celebrate. Drake and his mother managed to flee from Italy once Bolas came, but it was clear that his human foster mother needed someplace to hide. Drake and his mother fled to Russia, where several people were taking shelter and hiding from Bolas. Drake left his mother with the Russian group and defended them from a horde of Bolas' minions. However, another gifted by the name "Screwhead" was more powerful than Drake. Screwhead was physically stronger, while Drake was better at defending. After gaining trust with Screwhead, Drake left his mother in Russia. Drake had to make money somehow, so he traveled all over the world with information that he could gather from his power. Drake lost contact with his mother a year ago, the group fearing that Bolas was onto them. As a result, Drake does not know the whereabouts of the woman who raised him. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}] [PTab=ROLEPLAY] "I can't believe you didn't know that!" "Oh come on, I haven't been here that long. "Well, you should know them by now. Sheesh." Talk. It was all talk. Pointless talk that some females had decided would sound fun. Drake rolled his eye, staring at women quite a few feet away. They probably didn't even know that he existed, considering how many people were around. He was wearing Rainbow headphones, the other end plugged into some sort of machine. Well, it was a music-playing machine, one that was playing "Soul" music. Such sweet pleasant sound echoed through his ears, making him close his eyes and enter a world of blissful euphoria. He blocked out the woman for a distance, finding that their voices was not up to his standard. He was hoping to find a sweet, sultry voice. But they both sounded like clucking hens, and made it hard for him to concentrate. At least they weren't preventing him from listening to his tunes. I should find a job. I know Mama Drake is outta reach, but I still need food. And money. Drake patted his chest lightly, feeling the muscle from underneath his shirt. Still got them. I could be a bouncer or something. I heard New York's got a fine establishment. I could work for security...as long as they let me keep listening to my tunes. He leaned back slightly, relaxing into all that was his music. All I need now is a karaoke machine, a mic and I'll be good to start my serenade. He chuckled, getting up and moving around.
