[PTabbedContent] [PTab=POWER] [attr="class","appcon"]Abilities: Frog-person[attr="class","appcon"]Explanation of Power: Millie's power is most entirely passive modifications to her physiology rather than an active transformation technique. Her attributes can be enhanced by additional supercharging with mana but there is no way for her to turn off the effects of her ability beyond a basal level of expression. As such, Millie's effective mana reserves are lower than average for a person of her age and experience. The aspect one might expect most out of Millie's ability is that she is put together with the capacity to jump extraordinary distances. Her longest jump is at roughly 70 yards but with some difficulty landing properly. She is also able to cling to surfaces with her hands and feet. For these reasons, Millie has enhanced strength compared to the normal human with her kicks being able to break reinforced concrete and bend steel. The force generated by such feats is mitigated by a denser bone structure that makes Millie deceptively heavier than she looks. In spite of this, she remains incredibly flexible. She is also able to extend her tongue up to 5 meters and can easily grasp things with it. Millie's tongue is very durable in regards to its tensile and torsional strain and can knock a person off their feet. Both Millie's tongue and her skin (along with some other glandular organs) secrete a toxic mucous when she is stressed, nervous, or agitated. This substance is sticky (ultimately making Millie slippery), causes irritation, nausea, gastrointestinal distress, and is mildly hallucinogenic when absorbed through skin contact. When consumed (or exposed to excessive amounts of skin contact) the poison causes muscle spasms, fatigue, and potentially death. She is also capable of spitting this substance in globs as it lines her stomach. Millie can breathe through her skin provided it has not been dried out by exposure to strong winds, intense heat, or mechanical disruption of her mucous coat. She becomes incredibly irritable (more than usual) when dried out and is at risk to her health if kept dry for sustained periods. In extreme cases, she is able to alter her metabolism to string out her resources for longer. Millie has impressive peripheral regeneration, being able to even lose limbs and regrow them over the course of days without much trouble. However this ability does not apply to superficial injuries or organ damage. The primary mana-active part of Millie's power is the conversion of her poison into a powerful mana-enriched miasma that can be breathed out in copious amounts (provided there is no interruption by enemies or the environment). This powerful attack is typically telecast by the fact that Millie's body begins to swell up as she prepares the gas and can be interrupted quite easily in this phase as Millie is largely immobile for the duration. The miasma delivers diluted effects of her toxin with the advantage of delivers its hallucinogenic properties incredibly quickly. She is also able to enhance her frog-like attributes by channeling mana at an increased rate. This has an effect of her physical appearance. She is - in fact - able to eat people and incredibly large objects in her enhanced form (lel, sage mode) though the process of stretching her mouth is incremental. Most of the alterations to her anatomy caused by her ability are not readily apparent save for her legs. Most obviously, Millie's ankles are extended and her fifth toe is positioined at the base of her foot and typically is not touching the ground save when preparing for a strong jump. Millie typically walks on her tip-toes with a slightly bow-legged gait due to the extension of her ankles - a trait that allows for more surface area to push off the ground when jumping. When Millie's skin begins to secrete its toxic mucous, it is somewhat shiny. Her hair hangs just past shoulder length and is often tied into twintails. She has no major scars (largely in part due to her power's regenerative attributes) and has a small dragon-shaped tattoo the inside of her left thigh - indicative of a magical brand placed on her. Millie's taste in clothing is (for some) unnervingly minimalistic. As a part of her power's edge involves skin-to-skin contact, she typically wears little less than a tank top and short running sorts over spats. Millie seems to have no shame in regards to her nigh nakedness but keeps a long poncho with her for warmth concerns. She also carries gloves to prevent spreading her mucous onto everything she touches. She also carries a badge indicating her status as a member of the Taskforce to Reclaim North America, having previously been part of the army that had torn it apart at the Dragon's behest. When her power is supercharged she gains more anuran characteristics. Her skin turns green though can be adapted to blend with its surroundings. Her mucous coating becomes much more apparent. In addition her posture is adjusted to be more suited for a squatting four-legged stance accommodated by lengthened arms and a hunchback. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=PERSONALITY] [attr="class","appcon"]Likes: Frogs, water, revenge, guts, miniature ponies[attr="class","appcon"]Dislikes: Winter, confinement, GSC affiliates and Phoenix students, people who leave the air-conditioning set too high, idealists, jokes about her slime, watching fire burn[attr="class","appcon"]General Personality: Millie is the closest thing to living hatred that might be possible for a human being. Every move she makes it motivated by a cruelty. It seems at some point the endlessly-propagating reaction of self-indulgent outrage and deflective blame reached critical mass to create something of an endless sink of anger from which Millie draws her purpose in life.More often than not, her viciousness is readily apparent in her actions and words. If the option is available then Millie will take the most direct approach to delivering suffering onto her fellow man - that being brutal physical abuse and verbal assault of the most crass manner. As much of a blunt instrument as Millie is, she possesses a low, devious cunning and surprising patience (provided the promise of payoff) to deceive enemies. Perhaps the only thing that Millie respects - with the term being used very loosely - is power. Her fear of Bolas and his new world order is sufficient to table her hatred of civilized society or structure and Millie will not openly subvert those with the power to punish her or otherwise put her life in jeopardy. Even her loyalty to The Dragon can be tested should Millie believe her demise is inevitable. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}][PTab=HISTORY] [attr="class","appcon"]Family: Martin Monnet (father, deceased)Elizabeth Monnet (mother, likely deceased) To say that Millie had a turbulent childhood would be putting it mildly indeed. Her parents were both Gifted but part of a faction made up of those who didn't agree with the Gifted Security Counsel's methods. In large as a result of the GSC's overwhelming power and very punitive methods against dissent, the group had shifted to the status of an underground society by the time that Millie was born. Her parents quickly realized bringing a baby into the world while on the run from a totalitarian authority was something of a mistake but one that neither was willing to concede and correct. From even before she had been born, Millie was seen as a burden on those around her.[attr="class","appcon"]History: Growing up with fugitives was tough going for the frog-girl. Among her kin, usefulness was a requirement rather than an accessory attribute. and being a child, Millie found herself in short supply and those around her were rarely content with effort alone. She spent much time begging on streets to bring the earnings back to her parents. Millie's lifestyle changed drastically when the inevitable hammer blow came crashing down courtesy of the Gifted Security Council. They had been infiltrating and investigating the group for some time and had finally obtained legitimate evidence of an imminent danger to society beyond the raids for food in the night that had been characteristic of the splinter cell Millie grew up amongst. While the separatist group had been training for some time they were no match for the overwhelming power and resources at the command of the GSC and the majority of the group was captured with some incidental casualties. The group was collectively tried, convicted, and sentenced of presenting a danger to the Gifted society at large and the members including Millie were shuffled off to various Gifted prison facilities. It was in such a facility that Millie spent her time up until Bolas broke down the barrier of the world and brought Lake Superior crashing down into the prison buried beneath it. The guard staff had abandoned their posts at the onset of the chaos and left the place to flood over the course of a few days. Unlike the vast majority of the prison population not in special stasis units, Millie was capable of enduring the flood - though she was still trapped within her cell. After some time of waiting, an unexpected twist saved Millie from a slow, lingering death in her sunken tomb. Nicol Bolas himself arrived at the prison - intent to salvage some of the Gift with high tier powers and anti-government dispositions - and vaporized most of the flood with but a single wave of a claw. Millie was among those recruited from the Lake Superior Facility to serve as the building blocks of Bolas's Gifted and human army. This was a proposition that Millie was all too eager to accept. After being imprisoned for almost a decade and almost half of her life, she was hungry for the prospect of personal revenge against the world at large. With her endless reserve of viciousness and plenty of motivation, Millie did well for herself among the unrefined rabble that had pledged themselves to Bolas. She survived the subsequent culls that transformed the mob into an army for snuffing out rebellion. It is for that reason that Millie, along with some of her peers, have come to New York. [/PTab={max-height:200px;min-height:200px;}] [PTab=ROLEPLAY] There was a special kind of reward to work when it aligned closely with your own ambitions. Millie had heard the guards talk about it at Lake Superior and seen it on the TV shows they occasionally got. The idea of your "perfect job". It'd taken a radical facelift on the world itself for Millie to find hers. But boy, oh boy, was it satisfying. "T-traitor... why? The dragon... will... destroy us all." croaked a feeble voice of a man crawling along the ground with blood gushing from his nose and one of his legs bent at a certainly unhealthy angle. Millie was a few strides behind his prone pace, strutting on her tiptoes. As her foot came down on his back, it pressed down until there was the cartilaginous pop of her ankle looking into jumping position. The man grunted as Millie's weight pushed down on him. Each breath he took, her foot would push down just a little bit more until there wasn't any room to expand back to. The clock was ticking. "Popular question, that'n." Millie remarked, licking her lips and tapping at her chin. "S'pose I dun' really have quite as fond mem'ries as ya do about the way thin's were." she said and shrugged her shoulders. She watched as the man began to wheeze beneath her foot, clearly beginning to struggle to draw in air. "Way I see it, there wadn't much of a world to betray fer me." she added as he began to claw helplessly over his shoulder to try to pry her foot from between his shoulders. Slowly but surely. "I'd say it's ain't personal but... Y'know, kinda is." Millie said with a chuckle as she felt the movement under the soles of her feet cease. Another day, another dollar.
